Since its foundation in 2002 San Camilo Hospice has become a point of reference for hospice care in Argentina, assisting more than 2000 people with terminal illness (life expectancy less than six months) and accompanying relatives and friends without discrimination. Inspired in the spirit of Mother Teresa, pays special attention for those who lack economic resources or with no family to support them. All services are free and it is sustained by donations and the work of 200 volunteers.
In a culture where death is a mystery to which to turn our backs, with no academic education, seen by medicine as a defeat and where euthanasia appears as a possible solution, the HSC propose a society in which no one lives the end of life in abandonment and without the comprehensive human care necessary to have a dignified death.

I took contact with the hospice in March 2019, aiming to record and share testimonies of people in their last stage of life. A few months later I started volunteering.
